The big question: Is the $450 Dyson Animal Vac worth the 50% higher price tag. This review compares a $300 Hoover Wind Tunnel to the popular $450 Dyson Animal Vacuum Cleaner. The Dyson Animal Vacuum is one of the most popular, beloved vacuum cleaner on the market. It seems that plenty of people are willing to pay the extra price because they've been told there is simply no better vacuum than the Dyson Animal Vac. The video below demonstrates a carpet getting cleaned with the cheaper, robust Hoover Wind Tunnel, then tests whether or not the Dyson Animal Vac actually gets more dust and dirt from the floor. The results are very interesting: Before you spend any money on a Hoover Wind Tunnel or a Dyson Vacuum Cleaner, you will want to watch this instructive video demonstration.
Pretty impressive video, right? On the other hand, I can think of one way this demo could be far more convincing: Do the demo in reverse. Use the Dyson Animal Vacuum first, then go back to the $300 Hoover Wind Tunnel and see if it picks up some debris that the Dyson missed. Is it possible that different dirt, debris and dust has varying weights and physical properties which might be more suitable for one vacuum cleaner brand than another? Perhaps, the Hoover would be able to pick up some debris that the Dyson animal Vacuum missed. In my opinion, this is an unlikely possibility, but it would certainly make a convincing case even more convincing, would it not?
With the Dyson Animal Vacuum being sold as a refurbished unit for roughly the same price as the Hoover, you might not want to take a chance. You can find it on sale here:
